Located on the
Like the name implies, the Recovery Unit
originally was founded to facilitate the recovery of property and persons lost
in the areas watercourses. Today the Recovery Unit functions as a SCUBA
club with diving interests ranging from shallow to deep. When
requested, the Recovery Unit will engage in community service
operations. Any club member may volunteer to assist in such an
operations if they wish.
Built in 1902 as a
municipal water pumping station, the Unit building is club owned. Members have use of all club property
including air compressor, NITROX, Zodiac boat and motor, dry suits, tanks,
regulators, dive computers etc.
The club has many functions. Dive
trips, Bar-B-Qs, Video Nights and Diver Training to name a few.
Membership is open to all certified
divers. Family membership is welcome and encouraged.
